What is triggered stimulation?
Imagine you want to get your fingers moving. You place electrodes over the forearm muscles. Try and move your fingers for 1 or 2 seconds.
Picture your fingers moving in your mind. Then press the button you are holding in your other hand and the stimulator starts and moves your fingers.
But you've tried first and your brain is stimulated much more than with stimulation alone to find new pathways round the damaged area. This is very similar to using biofeedback and muscle stimulation.
The main difference of course is using triggered stimulation is simpler and doesn't need the more complicated set up necessary for biofeedback.
Triggered stimulation can be used on any part of your body including drop foot. As you can see the button is small, light and easy to use.
The button simply plugs into the neurotrac rehab and is ready to use. Many people start with triggered stimulation for 10 - 15 minutes then switch to standard stimulation.
